The position of Clan Genealogist has been vacant for some time so when Karyn Norton expressed to Association President, Mel Sinclair, her interest in the job, he gladly appointed her to the post in late May. Karyn lives in historic Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania in the Greater Philadelphia area with her husband, Wes, daughter, Stevie Lynn, and son, Jason.|
Karyn grew up knowing about her American Revolutionary War ancestors, Sinclair ancestors, as well as connections in England and Scotland. She was always interested in the many stories she heard about the family. Her Sinclair connection is through her maternal grandmother, along with connections to many colonists of this country. Karyn became more involved in family genealogy around 1995, trying to get as much information as possible on known ancestors. As the internet grew so did the information and ease of finding it.
Karyn joined the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and became a chapter officer in 2001, chapter Regent 2004-2007, Executive Board Officer 2007-2010, and chapter Registrar/Genealogist in May 2010. During all of these years she helped prospective members locate and document their ancestors for admittance. She also conducted local genealogy research workshops. Karyn is also a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, involved with the local JROTC and veterans groups.
Hobbies include genealogy, history- especially of Scotland, England and American Colonists, reading, sewing, and needlepoint. Along with home schooling her son Jason, Karyn works in the quality control field for a major electronic component supplier. She is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Karyn looks forward to helping Sinclair desendants with their family research any way possible. She can be contacted by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone/text: 215-688-3904.
